Elevated to Succeed!
At Community Preparatory School, we empower our diverse student body to reach full academic and leadership potential while building a Beloved Community. As a private school that serves a public-school population, we are very proud that 83% of our graduates are either in college or have their degrees – an amazing statistic for an inner-city school.
The Champlin Foundation has supported Community Preparatory School’s capital efforts for more than 20 years. Its most recent support has allowed the school to install an elevator that allows safe and rapid access to all levels of our building. This has been a need for a number of years.
Projects funded include the purchase of a lot adjacent to the school, a bus, mobile computer labs, building renovations, a new boiler, and a new elevator. The Champlin Foundation’s lifetime support of $1.6 million has enabled Community Prep to grow from its meager beginnings of one classroom at the YMCA to serving over 160 students in its own newly renovated building.
